What to Put on Your Booking Confirmation Page
The confirmation page is the last thing a customer sees after paying and the first place they go when something changes. It does more work than most people give it credit for. Viralyze creates one automatically for every booking, with add-to-calendar, reschedule and cancel options, so this article is about how to think about what is on it and the few things you control.
A confirmation page has four jobs: confirm what was bought, get the session into the customer's calendar, give them a self-serve way to change plans, and tell them what to expect.
What must a confirmation page show?
The service, the date and time, the format and the amount paid, in that order. A customer who booked "Tarot reading, Friday 7 PM, Google Meet, ₹1,200" should be able to read those four facts in two seconds.
If the service was a combination, list each part. "Haircut + Beard trim, 60 min, ₹800" tells the customer the add-on registered. If payment was upfront, say it was received; this ends the "did my UPI go through?" DM before it starts.
Does the customer need an add-to-calendar button?
Yes, and it should work for any calendar, not just Google. Your own Google Calendar already has the event with the customer invited, but a customer on an iPhone with Apple Calendar wants to add it there too.
The Viralyze confirmation page offers add-to-calendar, so the session lands wherever the customer keeps their day. A WhatsApp reminder follows before the session, which means a customer who ignores the calendar still gets a prompt.
How should reschedule and cancel work?
They should be on the page, within rules you set once. You decide whether customers can cancel themselves and until when; the page shows or hides the cancel option accordingly, and refunds go back automatically when a permitted cancellation happens.
A sensible setup for a coach:
1. Allow self-cancellation up to 24 hours before the session. 2. Allow rescheduling at any time, since a moved session is better than a lost one. 3. After the cut-off, the cancel option disappears and the customer can still reschedule.
Rescheduling moves the Google Calendar event for both of you, so there is no stale slot left in your diary.
What should "what happens next" say?
Only the instructions the customer needs between now and the session. For an online session, that the Meet link is in their calendar invite. For an in-person visit, the address and anything to bring. For a phone or WhatsApp call, which number will call them.
Here is an example for a dietitian's 30-minute first consult: "Your Meet link is in the calendar invite we just sent. Before the call, note what you ate yesterday; we will start there. Need to move it? Use the reschedule button below." That is three sentences and it answers the three questions people ask.
What should I leave off the page?
Sales copy, long policies and anything that invites the customer to keep shopping. They have already bought; the job now is to get them to the session.
Keep the page short enough to read on a phone without scrolling. If you must state a policy, one line does it: "Cancellations are free until 24 hours before." Everything else lives on your Instagram profile or in the Auto-DM that brought them here. In Viralyze, that DM, the booking and the contact record are all connected, so you can always see the full path later.
Frequently asked questions
**Can I add my own text to the confirmation page?** Keep any instructions you need in the service description and in your booking DM; the confirmation page itself is generated by Viralyze with the booking details, add-to-calendar, reschedule and cancel.
**Does the customer get the confirmation by email too?** The customer receives a calendar invitation to the email they gave, and a WhatsApp reminder before the session, in addition to the confirmation page.
**What happens if a customer reschedules after paying?** The booking moves to the new slot, the Google Calendar event moves with it, and the payment stays attached to the booking.
