Tap Counts Per Link: Measuring Your Bio Page Properly
A single "profile link clicks" number tells you people tapped something; it does not tell you what. Viralyze records a tap count for every block on your link-in-bio page and for every smart link you create, so you can see that the booking page got 140 taps this month and the podcast link got 9, and act on that.
This article is about turning those counts into decisions: what to move, what to remove, and what to send by DM instead.
Where do tap counts appear?
Two places. Each block on the bio page shows its own count, and smart links carry click tracking wherever you use them, on the page, in an Auto-DM or pasted elsewhere. The home screen rolls link clicks up into one figure with 7, 30 and 90-day ranges.
Read the per-link counts for layout decisions and the home screen total for the overall trend.
What does a healthy bio page look like in numbers?
Taps concentrate at the top and fall away. If the first block has the most taps, the second fewer, and so on, visitors are finding what they want quickly. A page where block five outperforms block one is telling you to reorder.
Take a personal finance educator with four blocks: a ₹999 budgeting course, a free expense tracker, a booking page for 1:1 money reviews, and a YouTube link. Her 30-day counts are 61, 230, 48 and 12. The free tracker is doing most of the work, so it should sit first, with the course directly beneath it to catch people who liked the freebie.
How do I find the dead link?
Sort by taps over 30 days and look at the bottom. A block with single-digit taps over a month is costing you space and attention. Either remove it or move it to the end.
Before deleting, check whether the problem is the item or the label. A block titled "Resources" gets fewer taps than one titled "Free expense tracker (Excel)". Rename, wait a week, and compare on the 7-day view.
When should a link be sent by DM instead of sitting in the bio?
When the audience for it comes from a specific reel rather than from profile visits. The finance educator's course sells to people who watched her "50-30-20 rule" reel. Those viewers comment "COURSE", receive the checkout by Auto-DM in about a second, and never visit the bio page at all.
Smart link tracking follows the link wherever it goes, so she can compare taps from the bio block with clicks from the DM:
1. Note the course block's 30-day taps on the bio page. 2. Open the COURSE automation's funnel and note delivered against clicked. 3. If the DM route produces more clicks, keep the course in the bio for profile visitors but spend content effort on reels that trigger the keyword.
Do taps tell me about sales?
Taps show interest; revenue and sign-ups show results. A block can have high taps and low sales, which points at the checkout page or the price rather than the bio layout. Put the two numbers side by side: taps per link on the page, revenue on the home screen, and contacts with source tags showing who bought and from where.
Because checkouts on Viralyze carry a 0% platform fee, revenue on the home screen is close to what reaches your bank in the weekly payout.
Frequently asked questions
**Are tap counts per link shown on the Starter plan?** Yes. Smart links with click tracking and the link-in-bio page are included in Starter at ₹199 a month.
**Do taps from my own testing get counted?** Any tap on the public page registers, so test from a separate device sparingly or expect a handful of extra taps.
**Can I reset the counts after a redesign?** Use the 7-day range to judge a fresh layout; the per-link history stays so you can compare with the previous arrangement.
