Multiple Services and Add-Ons: Booking Pages That Work Like a Salon Menu

19 October 2026

A good booking page works like the laminated menu at a salon: main services down one side, add-ons down the other, and the customer builds their own appointment. Viralyze gives you one booking link that does exactly that. You define services and add-ons with their durations and prices, the customer ticks what they want, and the total time and cost combine on their own before they pick a slot and pay.

Here is how to build the menu, with a hair salon as the worked example, and why the structure matters for your calendar.

What is the difference between a service and an add-on?

A service is the main reason for the visit and can be booked on its own. An add-on is an extra that attaches to a service and cannot be booked alone. Both carry a duration and a price, and both contribute to the final slot length.

For a salon the menu might look like this:

  • Haircut, 45 minutes, ₹800
  • Colour, 90 minutes, ₹3,500
  • Keratin treatment, 120 minutes, ₹6,000
  • Add-on: Head massage, 15 minutes, ₹300
  • Add-on: Blow dry, 20 minutes, ₹400

A customer who picks Colour plus Blow dry gets a 110-minute booking at ₹3,900, and the page only offers start times with 110 free minutes in your Google Calendar.

How does the price and time combine?

Automatically, and the customer sees the running total as they tick items. You never quote a combined price by DM or work out whether two services fit before lunch. The page adds durations, adds prices, and checks the calendar for a slot long enough.

Buffers you set between appointments are respected on top of that, so a 15-minute cleaning gap after a colour is built into the next available time rather than squeezed out.

Can different services have different formats?

Yes. Each service can be in person, Google Meet, phone, or WhatsApp call. A salon will mostly be in person, but a stylist who also sells 30-minute online hair consultations can list that as a Google Meet service on the same page. The client is invited to the calendar event with a Meet link for online sessions.

The format sits on the service, so one menu can mix a walk-in haircut with a remote consultation without confusing anyone.

How do customers reach the menu from Instagram?

Three ways, and most businesses use all three:

1. Put the booking link on your link-in-bio page. 2. Attach the booking page to an Auto-DM keyword such as "APPOINTMENT", so a comment on your transformation reel sends the menu by DM in about a second. 3. Send the link manually from the Viralyze Inbox when someone asks in a conversation.

The link uses the shre.pro domain, in the form shre.pro/yourname/book, which is short enough to say out loud at the counter.

What happens after they book?

Payment is taken upfront through an RBI-authorised aggregator by UPI, card or net banking, and the booking appears on your Google Calendar. A WhatsApp reminder goes out before the appointment. The confirmation page lets the customer add the event to their calendar, reschedule, or cancel if you have allowed self-cancellation up to a cut-off you choose; a refund goes back automatically in that case.

Every booking becomes a contact with a source tag, so at month end you can see how many clients came from the "APPOINTMENT" reel versus the bio link, and export the list to CSV.

Frequently asked questions

**Can an add-on be made available only with certain services?** Add-ons attach to the services you choose, so a blow dry can follow a colour without appearing under a consultation call.

**Is there a limit on how many services I can list?** List as many main services and add-ons as your business offers; the menu is yours to organise.

**Does a longer combined booking ever overlap another appointment?** No. The page offers only start times where the full combined duration plus your buffer is free on the calendars you connected.
