Instagram DM Script for a Limited-Time Offer
A limited-time offer DM is honest about three things: what the deal is, when it ends, and what happens after. Add a link and you are done. Pressure lines ("only 2 left!!") hurt more than they help, because the viewer cannot verify them. What they can verify is a deadline that actually holds, and Viralyze helps you keep it by auto-pausing the automation at the exact date and time you set.
The limited-time offer DM script
Automatic DM on keyword OFFER:
"Thanks for the OFFER comment. The Diwali Skincare Bundle (cleanser, serum, SPF) is ₹999 instead of ₹1,799 until Sunday 11:59 PM. Pay by UPI or card here: [checkout link]. After Sunday it returns to full price, no extensions. Reply if you want to know which skin types it suits."
Last-day story version (trigger: story replies):
"Last day for the bundle at ₹999. Link: [checkout link]. Closes at midnight."
Note what is missing: no fake scarcity, no exclamation marks in a row, no "hurry". The deadline does the work.
Why does the offer need a hard stop?
Because the next offer only works if the last one really ended. If people learn that "ends Sunday" means "available next week if you ask", your deadlines stop meaning anything.
In Viralyze, set the automation to auto-pause on the deadline date and time. Comments after that moment get no DM, and you can set a second automation on the same keyword that sends "The offer closed on Sunday, here is the full-price link" instead.
How do you set up the offer with an auto-pause?
1. Create the bundle as a product in the shop with the offer price, so the checkout page shows ₹999. 2. Create an Auto-DM automation on the launch post with keywords OFFER, "offer link" and "deal". 3. Paste the script and attach the checkout. 4. Under scheduling, choose "start now" and set auto-pause to the deadline date and time. 5. Test with the live tester, then set it live.
On Monday the automation shows as Paused. Edit the product back to ₹1,799 and the old link now sells at full price.
What keyword should a limited-time offer use?
Use the offer name or a plain word like OFFER or DEAL, not the discount amount. "Comment 45OFF" dates itself and looks like spam in the thread. "Comment OFFER" works for every future campaign, and you only change the DM behind it.
If you run offers often, keep the same keyword each time. Your regular followers learn the habit.
How do you measure whether the offer worked?
Open the per-automation funnel: comments, matched, delivered, clicked, signed up. Compare clicks to the revenue figure on the home screen for the same 7-day range. If clicks are high and revenue is low, the checkout page or price is the issue, not the reel.
Every buyer and every non-buyer who commented is now a contact tagged with this automation. When the next offer runs, you know exactly who to reach.
Frequently asked questions
**Can the offer DM go only to followers?** Yes, turn on the follow-gate. Non-followers are nudged to follow first, up to three times, then get the link. Followers get it immediately.
**What if someone comments after the deadline?** With auto-pause on, the automation stops and no DM goes out. You can run a second automation on the same keyword for the full-price message.
**Can I schedule the offer to start later?** Yes. Choose a start date and time, or "start with your next post", so the automation is already Live the moment the reel is published.
