How to Allow Partial-Day Availability (After 2 PM Only)

19 October 2026

Plenty of creators are not free all day. A teacher who coaches after school, a doctor with hospital rounds in the morning, a designer who keeps mornings for client work: all of them need partial day availability on their booking page, not a blunt on-or-off switch. Viralyze lets you mark a day as "after 2 PM", "until noon" or any window, and only those hours show as bookable. Here is how it works and when to use it instead of a full day off.

What is partial-day availability?

Partial-day availability is a rule that keeps part of a day closed while the rest stays open for bookings. "After 2 PM only" means no slots before 2 PM on that day, while slots from 2 PM onward follow your normal service lengths and buffers.

It differs from a day off, which removes the whole day, and from a busy event in Google Calendar, which blocks one specific time span.

When should you use it instead of a day off?

Use it whenever you are available for some of the day. Blocking the whole day throws away bookable hours; a busy event works but has to be repeated for each date.

Common cases:

  • Weekday job: open "after 6 PM" Monday to Friday, full days on weekends.
  • Hospital days: "after 4 PM" on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
  • Parenting hours: "until 1 PM" every day during school term.
  • Half day before a holiday: "until 1 PM" on one date only.

A fitness coach in Bengaluru, for example, trains in-person clients at a gym from 6 to 10 AM and takes online consultations "after 2 PM", so her Google Meet services only ever appear in the afternoon.

How do you set it?

The setting sits with your days off and buffers.

1. Open the booking settings in Viralyze. 2. Choose the date or recurring weekday. 3. Set the window, for example "after 2 PM" or "until 12 PM". 4. Save and open your own booking link to confirm the morning slots are gone.

Partial-day rules stack with everything else. A 15-minute buffer still applies after 2 PM, and a 3 PM busy event from Google Calendar still blocks 3 PM.

Does it apply to every service on the page?

Yes. The window applies to the whole day across all services, in person or online. If you want different services at different times of day, pair the partial-day rule with how you describe and schedule them.

The simplest pattern is one window per day type: mornings for in-person, afternoons for online, each set as the partial-day rule for the relevant weekdays. Clients see only what fits, and Viralyze writes every booking to the same Google Calendar either way.

Can you change the window for a single week?

Yes. Add a one-off partial-day rule on the specific dates and it overrides your usual pattern for those days only. During exam season a tutor can open "after 7 AM" for a fortnight and then let the normal "after 4 PM" rule resume.

Because the page updates as soon as you save, you can make this change from your phone the night before. Clients who already have a DM with your link will see the new slots next time they open it.

Frequently asked questions

**Does "after 2 PM" include a slot starting exactly at 2 PM?** Yes. The window opens at the time you set, so a 2 PM slot is bookable if your service length and buffers fit.

**Will existing bookings in the morning be cancelled?** No. Partial-day rules affect what new clients can book; anything already on the calendar stays until you move it.

**Can I combine a partial day with a date range?** Yes. Block the full days of your trip as a range and set a partial day on the day you leave or return.
