Does Viralyze Work With Reels, Posts and Stories?

19 October 2026

Viralyze works with reels, feed posts and stories. There are three trigger types: comments on a specific post (a reel or a feed post), comments on any post you publish, and replies to a story, either any story or one you choose. Every trigger uses the same keyword matching, the same DM content and the same optional follow-gate, so the only decision is where the automation listens.

The sections below explain how each trigger behaves and when to use which.

How does the specific-post trigger work on reels?

You pick one reel or post and the automation watches only that one. This is the trigger most creators start with, because it ties a keyword to a piece of content that is clearly asking for it.

Example: a Kerala travel creator posts a reel of a houseboat route and sets the keyword "ITINERARY". Anyone who comments it gets a DM with a 3-day plan as a PDF, with open tracking so she knows who read it. Comments on her other reels do not trigger it.

What does the "any post" trigger do?

It listens for your keywords across every post, including ones you publish later. Pick it when the same offer applies to all your content.

A fitness trainer whose every reel ends with "comment PLAN" would use this trigger with the keywords "PLAN" and "plan bhejo", sending his booking page. He never has to set up a new automation when he posts, and the "start with your next post" scheduling option means it can be live before the reel is even published.

Can Viralyze reply to story replies?

Yes. A story trigger fires when someone replies to your story with a keyword, and you can scope it to any story or to a chosen one. Because stories vanish after 24 hours, this works well for time-boxed offers.

A practical flow:

1. Post a story with a poll or a "reply BOOK for slots" sticker. 2. Create a story automation with the keyword "BOOK" scoped to that story. 3. Set it to auto-pause after 24 hours or after a fixed number of DMs. 4. Send the booking link; bookings land in Google Calendar with a Meet link.

The reply shows up in your Inbox alongside the automated DM, so you can follow up in the same thread.

Are keywords handled the same on every trigger?

Yes. On reels, posts and stories alike, keywords are not case-sensitive, handle Hinglish spellings, emojis and typos, and you can set several per automation with different replies. "GUIDE" might send a PDF while "PRICE" sends a checkout page, both on the same reel.

The follow-gate, AI variations that make each DM read slightly differently, and the public comment reply ("Sent you a DM 💌") also work the same. Story replies are private, so there is no public reply on that trigger.

Which trigger should I use for what?

A simple rule of thumb:

  • Specific post: a reel with one clear offer, such as a recipe, a template or a product launch.
  • Any post: a standing offer you repeat in every caption, such as a booking link or a lead magnet.
  • Story: short campaigns, limited slots, flash discounts or question stickers.

Many creators run one of each at the same time. The home screen shows top reels by DMs, so you can see which trigger and which content are pulling the most.

Frequently asked questions

**Does the one-reply-per-comment rule apply to stories too?** Each story reply gets one private reply, the same as a comment, and Viralyze follows Meta's rules automatically on every trigger.

**Can one automation cover both a reel and a story?** No, triggers are per automation. Create one for the reel and one for the story; they can share the same keyword and DM content.

**Do carousel posts count as posts?** Yes. Feed posts, including carousels, work with the specific-post and any-post triggers.
