Does Viralyze Post on My Behalf?
No, Viralyze does not post on your behalf. It never creates feed posts, stories or reels, never likes or follows, and never edits your profile. The only outbound actions it takes are the ones you configure: a private DM to a person who commented your keyword, and, if you turn it on, a public comment reply under that comment. Both are text you wrote during setup. The app runs on the official Instagram (Meta) API with a limited set of permissions you grant on Meta's login screen.
Here is exactly what it can do, what it cannot, and how to read the permissions you are granting.
What does Viralyze actually send?
Two things, and only when a trigger fires:
- A private DM to the commenter. This contains your text and, optionally, a link, PDF, product checkout, lead magnet or booking page. AI variations make each DM read slightly differently, but the content and the offer are yours.
- A public comment reply, if enabled. For example "Sent you a DM 💌", rotated between variations so the thread looks alive. This appears as a normal reply from your account under the person's comment.
If you turn public replies off, the only outbound action is the DM. Nothing else goes out.
Why does it ask for permissions at login?
Meta's login screen lists the permissions the app requests: reading comments, managing messages, basic profile access. These are what comment triggers, Inbox replies and analytics need.
Posting to the feed is a separate permission, and Viralyze does not ask for it. You can confirm this at login and later under apps and websites in Instagram settings. Viralyze is a Meta Tech Provider and never sees your password, because the login happens on Meta's own page.
Can it reply to people who message me first?
Only within the thread an Auto-DM started. Replies to your Auto-DMs land in the Inbox with the originating comment attached, and you can answer from the app inside Instagram's 24-hour window. The app does not send unprompted DMs to your followers, does not mass-message, and does not read DM threads it did not start.
For instance, a handmade jewellery brand runs "RAKHI" on its product reels. When someone comments it, they get a DM with the checkout page and the public reply "Check your DMs ✨" appears under their comment. The brand's next reel, its stories and its profile are untouched; the owner still posts everything herself.
What about the public comment reply, is that "posting"?
It is a comment, not a post. It sits under the commenter's comment, it is attributed to your account, and it only ever says what you wrote in setup. Many creators like it because it signals to other people reading the thread that commenting the keyword works, which brings in more comments.
If you would rather keep your comment threads untouched, disable public replies in the automation and the DM still goes out.
Can it act on my account while I'm not looking?
Only in the sense that DMs go out while you are busy, which is the point. Omkar Gunjal (@omkargunjal) runs it on "PRICE" comments so DMs go out while he is shooting. What it cannot do while you are away is post, follow, unfollow, delete comments or change settings. Automations also respect any auto-pause you set, and they stop entirely if you revoke access from Instagram.
Frequently asked questions
**Will my followers see anything on my profile from the app?** No. Nothing appears on your profile, feed or stories. Public replies appear only under the comments that triggered them.
**Does it comment on other people's posts?** No. Public replies are posted only under comments on your own posts.
**Can I preview a DM before anyone gets it?** Yes. The live tester in setup shows whether a sample comment triggers, and you see the DM text you have written before going Live.
